Canadian soprano Rachel Pinevska, with her “sparkling, nuanced” voice, sings a wide range of concert and operatic repertoire that has taken her career throughout North America, Europe, and Australasia. Also known by the anglicized version of her surname - Pines - Pinevska began her musical studies in her hometown of Toronto Canada, completed a Masters of Voice Performance in Queensland Australia, currently lives in Berlin Germany.
In the 2026 season, Rachel Pinevska reprises the role of Prima Cercatrice/Suor Angelica/Il Trittico at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, which she premiered in 2023 in Pinar Karabulut's new production conducted by John Fiore. She will also return to her role as Eurydice/Orphée et Eurydice with the Sinfonieorchester Collegium Musicum Potsdam under the musical direction of Knut Andreas, directed by Steffen Findeisen. As well, she will appear as Pamina and Erste Dame/Das Zauberflötchen with the Kammerorchester Unter den Linden in the Philharmonie Berlin.
Among Rachel Pinevska’s recent performance highlights are her debut as soprano soloist in Carmina Burana with the Festival Symphony Orchestra Berlin, appearing in renowned concert halls including the Philharmonie Berlin, Laeiszhalle Hamburg, Die Glocke Bremen, and the NDR Konzerthaus Hannover. She also sang Königin der Nacht/Die Zauberflöte with Prager Festspieloper, as well as with the Kammerorchester Unter den Linden in the Philharmonie Berlin.
Rachel Pinevska’s operatic repertoire includes Zerbinetta/Ariadne auf Naxos conducted by Simone Young with Ensemble Q, Königin der Nacht/Die Zauberflöte with Brisbane City Opera, Opera Australia Schools Tour and the Australian Contemporary Opera Co., Frasquita/Carmen with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra conducted by Alondra de la Parra, La Musica/l'Orfeo, Fiordiligi and Despina/Così fan tutte, Tytania/A Midsummer Night's Dream (Miami Music Festival) and Dafne/Apollo e Dafne, (Brisbane City Opera). A lover of new music, Rachel Pinevska premiered the soprano 1 solo in A church made of glass by Elliott Gyger with Opera Queensland, as well as covered the title role in Ruth by Jeffrey Ryan with Tapestry New Opera.
In concert with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra Ms. Pinevska has sung arias the arias of Königin der Nacht/Die Zauberflöte, Olympia/Les contes d'Hoffmann, and Adele/Die Fledermaus under the musical direction of Daniel Carter and Daniel Kossov. Her concert repertoire includes the solo parts in Handel's Messiah, Haydn's Paukenmesse and Theresienmesse, Monteverdi's Vespers, Bach's Weihnachtsoratorium, Vivaldi's Gloria and Magnificat, Mozart's Exultate Jubilate, many Bach cantatas, Ravel's Chanson Madécasses, and Beethoven's concert aria “Ah, Perfido!”.
Rachel (with her Canadian surname Pines) received a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from Wilfrid Laurier University, where she also earned a Diploma in Chamber Music. She completed her Masters of Music at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University in Australia. After completing her studies, Rachel Pinevska received scholarships to study at the Lisa Gasteen National Opera Program in Australia. Rachel's awards include the Elizabeth Muir Memorial Prize, the Kitchener-Waterloo Chamber Orchestra Concerto Competition, second prize in the New Zealand Aria Award Competition, and finalist in the International de Chant Georges Liccioni competition and Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Aria Competition. She holds a permanent position as Soprano 1 in Deutsche Oper Berlin chorus.
